RE: my labs changed colour
How old is eddie, you say you've had him 6 years, did you get him from a pup, all dogs go grey round the mouth as they get older.
is he moulting a lot as this could explain the colour change to his legs. Our lab trixies nose changes colour, she sometimes has a complete pink nose other times she'll have black splodges. I'm moving this to lab chat as i think its more appropriate there ![]() ![]() Labrador of the month is back |

RE: my labs changed colour
Does he lie out in the sun at all as the sun may have bleached his fur, or he may have chocolate genes and he has a bit of a chocolate coat coming through I've seen a pup that was born black and chocolate.

RE: my labs changed colour
His mum being a chocolate will have no bearing on it - he will carry the chocolate gene but it will not have any bearing on his coat colour which is black. The colour you can see is simply his undercoat showing through. The undercoat of blacks is usually brown undercoat. Normally you wouldn't notice it, but when they moult it shows through.
A good brush should bring it out.

RE: my labs changed colour
I thought it may have something to with the undercoat thanks for confirming, hence my comment about moulting.
