I noticed it is a bit different to the human CPR, Have you done an animal first aid course?

I haven't.

I've wanted to participate, but our local Red Cross just closed down a few months back and I have no idea now if anybody offers them around here. Something I'm going to ask my vet about the next time I see him.

I had a look on the internet; I didn't even know there was such a thing until a while ago, it looks quite interesting! It is fairly expensive though, a main reason why I have not done it $1559 in Australia! For now I think I will stick with human first aid! I get that for free! Smile

Wow, that's crazy.

I think the course offered by the American Red Cross is fairly cheap. Our local chapter closed here recently so I emailed my vet to see if they would know of anybody local who offered one.

I think it would be something that would be worthwhile learning but there is no way I would do it for that price. I don't think the Australian Red Cross does it but I will have to look into it. Smile

Just looked online they don't seem to do it with the Australian Red Cross. I found this book though that looks like it would be interesting to have a look at:

I was looking at that, too. It comes with a DVD, which I'm sure would be handy.
