Favourite colour labrador?
What's your favourite colour of labrador?

Black, chocolate or yellow?

I quite like all 3 but my preference would be the fox red

They're all very cute! But if I have to pick a favourite it would be the yellow ones!

RE: Favourite colour labrador?
Fox red is my favourite as well, if well-bred they have such excellent pigment and eye colour; although we have no lines in this country that produce it at all. Unfortunately the gene pool is severely restricted all over the world, and, like the chocolates, it is being bred for colour now, which is creating "designer" labs that have bad conformation and severe health problems, both of which things have been ignored in the quest for colour.
The USA is the worst offender in this regard, although there are also some very GOOD breeders there, and some very BAD breeders in the UK as well. If you want to buy a Lab in either of these colours, you will have to go to one of the VERY top Lab breeders, in addition to insisting on health certification for parents and grandparents for at least two generations back.
I say this in the interests of the future of Labradors world-wide.
It is because of this that I breed only black and yellow, with my focus on blacks, as they were the original Labradors, and have the strongest gene pool.

A very excellent article by a GOOD Labrador kennel in the USA which breeds English-type Labs, with photos of the different colour yellows.

Labradors are lousy watchdogs. They usually bark when there is a stranger about, but it is an expression of unmitigated joy at the chance to meet somebody new, not a warning. ~Norman Strung

Well I've never heard of fox red until now. My favourite is still black. Smile

RE: Favourite colour labrador?
Hey Andy, why don't you add a fox red to the logo?
