DO dogs do this?
This happened to my gf's cat and I wonder if dogs do this too.
Shadow (the cat), got a US Dime size wound on his back a couple days ago, we didn't think alot about as he is an inside/outside cat and once in a while comes home with issues. Well we all had the flu for a few days and we didn't pay alot of attention to the cat. Well when we did he had licked the wound to baseball card size all the way to the muscle. We took him to the vet, he got shots, meds and a nice cone collar. Again, will dogs make things worse by licking it? Cindy's Flower Patch |

the other week Trixie had a cut on her ear,at first it never looked to bad but every time she shook her head the bleeding got worse had to take her to the vets as we thought it might need stitches.

RE: DO dogs do this?
The wound may have been infected due to the licking. Yes, it can also happen to dogs especially with dogs in unclean environment.
Labrador retrievers have a way of finding the people who need them, filling an emptiness we don't even know we have. |
